Power and Performance of the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek

The standard 2023 Crosstrek features three powertrain choices, depending on trim selection. The Base and Premium variants receive a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine with 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual sends power to all four wheels via Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive system. You can also opt for the Lineartronic CVT.

Stepping to Special Edition, Sport, and Limited grants you a 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine with 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. Subaru's Lineartronic CVT gearbox sends power to all four wheels via the symmetrical all-wheel-drive system and also features an 8-speed manual mode with paddle shifting.

The Hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter Boxer four with an electric motor for a system total of 148 horsepower, sent to all four wheels via a Lineartronic CVT and the symmetrical all-wheel-drive system. The Hybrid is rated for up to 90MPGe, as it can travel solely on electric power for short periods.

Subaru’s Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) drive selector, X-Mode, and hill descent control are optional on the Base and Premium trims and standard on higher trims. These further optimize drivetrain parameters depending on terrain and mode settings.
